Adapting Shannara

Obviously it should already have been a gacha game years ago. Don't ask silly questions. Genre? Who cares?

Habitational Musings

I bet dragons would love domed cities. Real comfy-like. Is that a thing in Shadowrun?

An Analysis of the Sales of Final Fantasy VII: The New One

On day one, people had just looked up what it was called and therefore knew what to buy. By day two, everyone had forgotten which was which. Hence the dropoff.

An Inspirational Speech

You kids think about Dragonlance when you should be taking your Dragonchance. Nothing will happen if you don't make it happen, and no hoard acquires itself. Every one of you has a Dragon Spirit inside.

Videogame Awards

I think they all deserve a round of applause, don't you? Especially Guild Wars. I like Ritualist because it's overpowered.

Reverse: 1999 Review

They called it that because everyone who plays it reverses 1,999 degrees and moonwalks away.

Collection Impulse

Once, the gods spread across the world armor, a shield, a helmet, gauntlets, and a sword for the day when darkness rose and a hero went to meet it. However, the hero only needed the sword, so the other items were never found.
"Now I, Argurim, the king of collectors, will complete the set!"
The wealthy adventurer set out after making that bold proclamation. First, he and his retinue visited Lattely the City of Stamps, which was a bad idea, because he never left it. And so the divine panoply slumbers still.

A Star Ocean Summary

You're on a fantasy world. You have a pretty good time. Then you leave the fantasy world and don't have such a good time, but the game's almost over anyway.

Kind of Tone Deaf

How can Owlcat make Rogue Trader with all these rogue traders causing problems right now? More importantly, I don't think that's a good way to say "xenos."

The Legend of Heroes: Trails From Zero Review

It sure was nice of them to put the score in the title! Bazing!

Score: Legend/Heroes
Note: I have not played this game.

Addendum

Baldur's Gate II is better than Icewind Dale II though. Watch out! They're creating a double helix!

The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Complete Review and Analysis.

Didn't watch it, so I'm going to talk about Pathfinder: Kingmaker instead. It's good, but it should have dropped the kingmaking and been about half as long after that excision. Also, the way some of the companions get involved is odd. Early spoilers!

Harrim wanted to unseat the Stag Lord and become a baron? Really? Harrim? That guy? Him? It makes sense that nobody seems to mind that you get to be the baron. They don't seem to be the sort to want that in the first place. But then why are they there?

Sudden Realization

Hey, wait a minute! Skyrim came out a long time ago! Where's the next one? I'm starting to think development time for modern games has become so inflated as to threaten the industry because so few people now have the skill set gained from experience to guide a game from conception to release!

Bandwagoning

I have no idea if the Exos Heroes is actually terrible, but let's all enjoy the spectacle and pretend like we know something. Ahem. How about that Exos Heroes revamp, right, fellas?

Happy Slime Day!

Two holidays in a row? It's getting positively Roman here. Be sure to celebrate and remember the old saying, the best time to build a monster city was twenty years ago, but the second-best time is now.

Inspiring Quotations

"If worlds that run on RPG mechanics to which people get sent from time to time did not exist, we would have to invent them." - Friedrich Neetsche

I Fell in the River and Now I'm in the World Where All the Good Games Went?!?!

If you've never been to the world where all the good games went, you're missing out. It's not all mouses and keyboards there, though.
"So let me get this straight. Only I can defeat the Dark Lord Eethree for some reason, and he's doing something or other that's bad. Sounds plausible."
"I'm glad you think so! I'd sure hate if you became suspicious."
Nothing could be more suspicious than my self-declared guide, a snake with a bowtie and comically large glasses. I mean, a snake? Why not a scorpion or a three-toed backstabber?
"Lead the way, snake buddy. You go first. I'll follow at a distance that shows my regard for your privacy."
"Wow, you're the most polite hero we've been sent so far! I hope you do better than the others!"
"What was that?"
"I said, I hope you like competent RTS games, space sims, RPGs (narrative-based, open world, real time, turn-based, dungeon crawler, and more), puzzle games, first-person shooters, third-person shooters, strategy games, hardboiled detective mysteries both with and without FMV, pirate simulators, 2D platformers with lots of secrets, action games with non-numeric powerups, god games, rhythm games, wrestling games that work, fighting games with singleplayer content, and much more!"
"I do like those things."
"Then off we go!" The snake wriggled into the strange world I'd washed up in, and I followed.
