High-altitude cooking is enough of a hassle as it is. How will high- and low-gravity cooking be, especially when combined with high-altitude, not to mention humidity and the inevitable mutations which will make for picky eaters?

Progress and the Losses Incurred Thereby

Lights came on to illuminate the stage opposite the speaker. On it stood a bewildered horse, an distracted turkey, a stoic mule, and a guinea pig in a cage.

If you don't describe the taste, smell, texture, and viscosity of every single sauce used in your setting, your readers might as well be reading a dictionary. I know most fantasy authors understand that, but you science fiction guys need to get your various acts together.
