Tournament Edition

Every fantasy, science fiction, and romance book ought to have a spinoff about the characters in a fighting tournament. The exception is stories about fighting tournaments, which must instead have a spinoff about a cooking tournament.

Physique Reminder

Unless you have a good reason to against this, your story's villain should be absolutely shredded, just an unbelievable specimen of musculature. This is true in all speculative fiction genres including alternative history.

Widespread Applications

Action? Mystery? Romantic comedy? They could all use glowing weak spots. They communicate information in an efficient fashion convenient to the writer. Shoot the boss in the glowing weak spot.
