Holiday Implications

In the future, when we colonize far-flung planets, which we will and I don't want to hear any naysaying, people are going to argue about when holidays should be held. You thought this Easter kerfuffle was all settled, but get ready for Space Easter.

Or Postumus, but that's a little depressing. Use that name to achieve a darker, grittier feel.

Don't worry. They're all named Gaius, Caius, Cnaeus, Publius, Marcus, or Lucius. You're a third of the way there already!

A Fun Calendar to Try

Instead of having your story take place in 937 After the Dark God's Descent, why not do it like the Romans and name it after whoever's consul that year? You'l only need to come up with 937*2 consuls to fill in the backstory!

Anyone who suggests Spooktober will be shot. The reduction of the Earth's population by 40% will free up a lot of real estate.

Calendar Rationalization

It's pretty messed up that the tenth month of the year is called October. November doesn't even bear mentioning. I propose a panel of fantasy authors be convened to come up with new month names.
