It's Time to Start Remaking Books
Movies are remade all the time. You might think that has something to do with the medium, but way back when, everybody wrote his own version of the Argo's travels or King Arthur's rise and fall. What changed? Nothing that can't be changed back, especially when we revise those darn intellectual property laws in the interests of mankind's survival.

Sovereignty's Mettle
The king issued this dreadful proclamation from his stern throne. "Every child born this year is to be slain."
The people heard him and said this: "No."
"But there was a foretelling that . . ."
"No."
"I sent carts of wealth to the oracle. We can hardly ignore the warning."
"No."
And lo, the kingdom fell as prophesied, because a king who cannot even make his subjects sacrifice their children is no king at all, his crown ever unsure.

How Do We Reimagine King Arthur for a New Generation?
A knight is out fighting, but then when the super-monster comes out, it flashes to Camelot where Arthur looks up and throws Excalibur all the way to the battle. The knight picks it up and wins. This happens most episodes, but there's a two-parter where Excalibur is stolen to name a sample exception.

Addendum
Upon reflection, since he fights the Green Knight early, Gawain is probably the Red Knight. That clears that up, but I wish it hadn't been canceled. We never even got to see the invincible robot King Orknaurer.

Failed Plan
Option 3 was going to be King Arthur except it's a football player sent back in time, but extensive research has proved all the good ideas have already been done. There is nothing left but decay.

Backup Plan
Option 2 is post-apocalyptic King Arthur. They should still use swords though. And still have all the bright colors and fancy sets. Just have some shirtless dudes with mohawks to fight.
The Newest King Arthur Reimagining
Here's the idea: Bright colors and furs and fanciness just like in the French stories. Do it up real big and have silks everywhere. Allow the sun to shine. Put some adventures in there.

Popular Elements in Fantasy and Scifi
At this juncture I must remind everyone that Star Wars has knights in it. Arthurian stories also have knights. Is this a coincidence? When it comes right down to it, 100% of those two popular series have knights. Join the knight wave! Get A Bundling of Knightly Deeds on Kindle today!

The Mysteries of Popularity
But what is it that fantasy series lack to attract adaptations? Elegance? Charisma? Mummies? Probably not enough knights.

The Wide World
Not only did King Arthur conquer the Roman Empire, but Galahad ruled the Holy Land for some years. People looking back today think of Arthurian stories as something taking place in Britain, but for centuries the people telling, writing, hearing, and reading them thought of them as stories taking place in the world.

Back to Basics
Some works become discussed so much the participants come to know the work as discussed rather than the work as written, which can be something else entirely. How many people think the Iliad had a wooden horse in it or are sure The Lord of the Rings is long? How many people remember that time King Arthur conquered the Roman Empire? Even the Romans didn't remember that.
That's why we should read the works as written from time to time and come to fresh conclusions, such as this: Arthurian stories are much better when Lancelot isn't in them.
