They say the king himself crossed the realm, placing potions in chests and lockpicks in barrels as he went. Smiths and magical artisans had leisure to develop their skills to perfection that they might fashion arms and amulets for which that halcyon period had no use, which is why they're all at full durability.
"But what about the chickens, fish, and things like that I find in ruins sometimes?"
